Chiefs of Clan Fleming

The Fleming clan of Scotland was led by 18 chiefs between 1306 (when clan founder, Robert Fleming was granted the estate at Cumbernauld and Lenzie) until the death in 1747 of his unmarried descendant Reverend Charles Fleming, 7th Earl of Wigton and 12th Lord Fleming. Accordingly, Clan Fleming is now an armigerous clan (one without a recognized chief) until such time as a new chief is officially recognized by Scotland’s Lord Lyon King of Arms.
